There are days that mark a beginning. For SisterHood Community Foundation, Kinner Conclave 2026 was exactly that.
In July 2026, in the heart of Bandra, Mumbai, members of the transgender community came together for our very first campaign, a gathering built on four simple, powerful words: voices, dignity, inclusion, and equality.
A space to be heard
For too long, the concerns of the transgender community have been spoken about, but rarely spoken by. The Conclave set out to change that. Instead of speaking for the community, we created a platform where its members could speak for themselves, sharing their experiences, their challenges, and their hopes, in their own words. What filled the room wasn’t just conversation. It was honesty, courage, and a sense of belonging that many said they had rarely felt before.
More than words
We believe empowerment has to go beyond speeches. So the Conclave was designed to open real doors. Through skill-based workshops — including driving and computer training, participants took their first steps toward employable skills and financial independence. We shared guidance on education and job opportunities, and information on government schemes and the rights available to the community.
The message was clear throughout the day: this support isn’t charity. It’s dignity, and it’s a right.
Just the beginning
Kinner Conclave 2026 was our first campaign, but it won’t be our last. It showed us what’s possible when a community is given a platform, a purpose, and a promise that it won’t be left to do it alone.
